Payments may be made by post-dated cheque, debit, pre-authorized debit, or e-transfer

The annual registration fee is due at the time of registration, and is non-refundable.

ELC families and those who are new to SCA may be eligible for the early registration rate at any time of the year including after the close of the early registration period.

The academic material and activity fee is due on and non-refundable after August 15, 2025.

Monthly tuition payments are due by the 15th of each month from August to May.

An administrative fee of $50.00 will be charged for NSF cheques or payments.

Purpose
This policy outlines how waitlists are managed at Sudbury Christian Academy, including both the Early Learning Program and the Elementary Program. It ensures compliance with Ontario Regulation 137/15 and reflects our commitment to transparency, fairness, privacy, and our Christian mission.
General Principles

Waitlists are administered in a transparent and equitable manner.

No fee is charged to families to place a child on the waitlist.

Families are informed of their child’s position on the list upon request.

All personal information is kept confidential and is used only for the purposes of admission and program planning.
Responding to Inquiries
Parents may inquire about their child’s position on the waitlist at any time. Names or positions of other children will not be disclosed. Staff will share:

An estimated timeframe (if known) for admission
Section A: Early Learning Program (Infant to School-Age)
Sudbury Christian Academy participates in the City of Greater Sudbury’s centralized child care registry for all Early Learning Program placements.
Managing the Waitlist

The Director of Early Learning is responsible for ensuring maintenance of the waitlist.

Children are placed on the list in chronological order, based on the date and time the application is received.
When a space becomes available, offers will be extended according to the following priority order:

Children of current SCA employees
-
Siblings of currently enrolled SCA children
-
Families expressing a desire for Christian education
-
Previously enrolled (returning) children
-
All other children, based on program room availability and order of application
Parents will be contacted via email or phone when a space becomes available. Families will be given two business days to accept the placement before their account is made inactive and the available space is offered to the next child on the list.
Section B: Elementary Program (JK to Grade 8)
Each class has a maximum enrollment of 18 students. The Director of Elementary Learning is responsible for ensuring maintenance of the waitlist. A waitlist will be created when a class reaches capacity.
Priority of Placement
When a space becomes available, prospective students will be contacted based on the following priority sequence:

Families seeking a Christian education

Returning (previously enrolled) students

Siblings of currently enrolled Academy students

Children of current SCA employees

Children of local pastors

Siblings of SCA alumni

Children with extended family currently attending

All other children, based on grade availability and order of application
Offering an Available Space

Parents will be contacted via email or phone when a space becomes available.

Families will be given two business days to accept the placement before it is offered to the next child on the list.

Financial Assistance
SCA offers several scholarships to reward strong character and academic achievement, and bursaries based on financial need.
Financial Need Bursary
All current and prospective students may apply for financial assistance in accordance with their families’ overall financial picture as assessed by third party Financial Assistance School Tuition (FAST) assessment.
